Tokyo Shadow #BestOfSaturn

Taito’s 1996 release Tokyo Shadow is a cool mix of FMV and graphic adventure. You are Hide, and along with your girlfriend Kyoko, you are investigating a supernatural lightning strike in Shibuya… could the devil Megiddo be behind the lightning?

The game seamlessly flows from short, live-action FMV clips to still images, to choose-your-own-adventure decision points — adding to the replay value as there are 45 possible endings.

A really solid game, highlighting once again how much broader of an audience the Saturn enjoyed in the land of the rising sun. If not for the language barrier…
