More Info on the New Cotton Game — Cotton Reboot! High Tension!

Back in 2019, the Japanese store BEEP announced that Cotton would get a remake called “Cotton Reboot!” as part of their push to start publishing games. This was only the first step, eventually publishing not only Cotton Reboot! but a new game titled “Cotton Fantasy: Superlative Night Dreams” (called “Cotton Rock’n’Roll — Superlative Night Dreams” in Japan) which we covered when it was announced back in 2021.

Now they’ve got another new game in the works. Last Sunday, BEEP showed off a new trailer for “Cotton Reboot! High Tension!” and posted additional info on the game’s site, including the game’s release date, which is set for July 24 of this year!

While not specific at first, this game is indeed a sequel to Cotton Reboot! itself. The story revolves around the Willow candy suddenly becoming self-aware and wreaking havoc all over the land. Cotton’s fairy friend Silk gets an idea, though, that she can get Cotton to eat Willow-chan to stop her wrath.

Willow-chan, the personification of the Willow candy come to life.

The game also features a new playable character called Macaron, deputy director of the Food Safety and Defense Agency, who came to assist after Willow’s Rebellion.

BEEP announced not only a regular physical edition, but also a special edition for both the Sony PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, which will come with a Cotton Reboot! High Tension!-themed teacup, the game and a soundtrack all within a treasure box themed after the game:
