Sandwiched between the two mainline games, Lunar Magic School is a remake of the Game Gear original, releasing exclusively on Saturn in Japan in late 1997 with obvious audiovisual enhancements.
Here, Lena and Ellie leave their hometown of Burg to travel to the magic school on the island of Ien, only to discover the instructors all missing. A standard, if not simpler and more lighthearted Lunar adventure ensues. Will the girls find the missing professors, and what exactly is the Vile Tribe’s involvement in the mystery?
The Game Gear original was fan-translated in 2009, but the Saturn remake remains locked to Japanese… for now.
