On January 31, 2023 Red Moon Lost Days, a visual novel by Sansigolo & Neuromage Studio, was released to the public. Now, it seems it appears to be getting a physical commercial release by RetroRoomgames.
Red Moon: Lost Days is a RPG/visual novel hybrid developed for the Sega Saturn about Kyou Tan Wa, a pilot who after lost contact with a Army General friend, sets out on a journey to Egypt to investigate his disappearance.
Physical copies of this release include 2 game discs & a manual in a standard CD jewel case. While RetroRoomgames does appear to sell Pseudo Saturn boot carts, they are not including one in this package release, warning buyers that they must BYOBM… “Bring Your Own Boot Method”…
* In order to play this you must have a modified Sega Saturn or an expansion cart that allows for homebrew games to be played on your Sega Saturn console. You can buy an expansion cart here:

This marks perhaps the first official commercial Saturn homebrew release, and kudos to Sansigolo for that! We look forward to seeing what other physical releases come out of RetroRoomgames, and we’ll keep you updated on that as we get more info.
This is fantastic news! Hopefully it paves the way for more homebrew games to be released physically for the Saturn. I’ll definitely be supporting it come my next paycheck.
