Monica’s Castle (Unreleased) Will Receive YouTube Episodic Playthrough

On May 20, 2022, YouTube channel 裏路地Gamers (Back Alley Gamers) announced it had received the ever so rare and unreleased copy of Monica no Shiro (Monica’s Castle – aka Faradoon) on loan from the owner HRD-Chan 4078, who had teased it on their Twitter account several times over the past year.

The announcement establishes the plan to release a long play of the game in episodic format. While this is far from the image dump that the community has no doubt been hoping for, it may be the best we get, at least for now… From a game history perspective alone, it should be interesting to see what this game is all about and how it plays out.

Here is the announcement roughly translated from Japanese to English:

RPG that never gives up.
What was promoted as an RPG that never fails, the game [Monica’s Castle] never ended up
being released, even after there was a campaign promotional giveaway of a CD with an image/song sung by the splendid voice cast as a pre-order bonus. At the time, it was dishonorably called “RPG that failed to be released”. Such a legendary game, Monica’s Castle.
This time, I was able to borrow a pre-release version of the game, and I would like to make a play video of it. Is there really an ending? Is there an ending at all?
I’m not very good at this game, but I will do my best to make a video.
