Just recently, game preservation website Dreamcast Info Preservation Games dropped the April 28th, 2000 E3 Prototype build of Jet Set/Grind Radio.
This build was showcased during E3 2000, and probably several other events around the world. This specific build allows you to try out various aspects of the game, and change to whatever character you’d like. It even has character specific dialogue introducing the demo, which probably hasn’t been seen since those demos in 2000.
Many changes have been found between the two versions, including models, character names, dialogue, crowd noises, and textures.
The build is pretty buggy, as it’s still in an early state. You can expect crashes, missing music, and other oddities as you play through the demo.
It’s pretty short as well, where the longest you can make the demo is if you spawn into a level on the debug menu, then lose. It will then take to the demo and loop the game.
Speaking of the debug menu, it gives you several options for customization such as character, level, and rival selection. You can even limit the demo’s location selection in game if you really want to.
For a more in depth look at all the changes and features, definitely check out Dreamcast Info Preservation Games’ website:
