As we talked about in the past, Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute was originally released by City Connection in September of last year, but was marred by around 11+ frames of input lag, on top of the input lag present in the actual games themselves.
City Connection eventually announced a patch was in the works to reduce input lag, but no timeframe of the patch dropping was announced.
As of yesterday, February 10th, City Connection finally released the patch for all systems to address reducing some of the input lag, on top of adding a few new features into the games:
Most importantly, the input lag has been reduced by 1.5-2.5 frames on average (Depending on the system and game being played):
While not a huge lag loss from the original 11 frames of lag, it will definitely help the game feel at last a little more playable…
Strictly Limited Games also confirmed this fix will be included in their physical release of the game:
Another cool tidbit for information included with this patch announcement, is that the bundle, along with each individual game, was released on Steam! Adding all the features from the console versions, with a few added features such as online ranking, Steam Achievements, Vsync options, and much more!
City Connection also announced the game will be coming to Xbox One in the first half of 2022. With so many options to play Cotton 2 and Boomerang, it’s never been a better time to be a Cotton fan!

I hope someone can nicely encourage them to keep working on it. Like… 6 frames of lag… at least that, please. Not 9.5 or whatever. But if you’re already in there working on it, do it right, and get it down to like 2 or 3 frames. Bleh… disappointing. Almost enough to get me to buy it, as I’m pretty casual, but I don’t know if I can do it. Probably won’t. Sad.
