Rayman #BestOfSaturn

SHIRO! SHOW Recap

Criminally ignored at launch because it wasn’t 3D, Michel Ancel’s Rayman is an exquisite platformer that looks the business. Coupled with an awesome Rémi Gazel soundtrack and tough – but highly controllable – gameplay, this is a gem of a Saturn game, and another example of a long-running series’ first game appearing on the mighty Saturn. Highly recommended!

Rayman. Produced and published by UbiSoft in all regions in 1995.
There aren’t enough superlatives in my vocabulary to adequately praise the pixel art on display in the game!
The game requires precise timing of jumps, ducks, and general platforming prowess. This makes it a hard game but it is always fair – the controls will never let you down!
The slightly muted backgrounds help ensure the foreground really pops.

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
