Obscure Gamers’ Forum Raising Money To Buy Several Game Beta and Dev Build Discs [UPDATE]

UPDATE: When posting this the other day, I was under the assumption they already bought said discs, and are trying to fetch donations to get money back, which wasn’t the case. They need to fund the entire £4500 in order to buy it.

In light of the recent news that the Castlevania Resurrection auction was taken offline, and is rumored to have been sold to a private collector, there’s some more positive news in regards to unfinished/unreleased builds.

WD, an admin over at the Obscure Gamers’ forum recently obtained an offer for a lot of 78 different discs as is for £4500 (Or approximately $6169.61 USD). One disc being an Xbox game, two being PS1 releases, and apparently the rest being Saturn discs.

More info on the lot was posted in this thread. Here’s a list of some of the games included:

Sadly though, they have a total of 6 weeks to raise the full amount of money to make the purchase happen:

So far, they managed to raise 44% of their funding goal to buy the set:

The buyer stated: “Some of these are extremely early, Virtua Fighter 2 is marked as 30% completed, While many are 60%, 65%, 70%, 75% complete.”

The best part, is they are fully intending to dump each and every disc they buy!:
“We have Plextor’s ready to dump for the SEGA Saturn, And a Kreon drive ready for the Xbox disc.”

That’s A LOT of discs!

While these are not unreleased never before seen games, it’s going to be great to see early builds, and the progression of each game’s development.

The guy’s over on the forums are taking donations to pay back the cost of buying these to be dumped:

“We’ve already had 2 donations upfront, meaning this is already 7% funded. Meaning it’s now less than the total.”

If you want to support the buying of said games, I highly recommend donating to their Ko-Fi linked here:
